La Cinta: A Kilometres-Long Sandy Beach Near San Teodoro

About five kilometres of bright, wide sandy beach right on the edge of San Teodoro โ€“ with a flamingo lagoon behind it. La Cinta is one of the most accessible dream beaches in the island's northeast.

Location & getting there

The beach borders San Teodoro directly and is walkable from the town centre โ€“ unusually convenient for a beach of this quality. Several car parks line the access road.

The lagoon behind it

Between the beach and the town lies the Stagno di San Teodoro, a lagoon where flamingos can regularly be spotted. A short walk along the transition between beach and lagoon is worthwhile even outside swimming hours.

Practical tip: Because La Cinta is so long, visitors spread out well โ€“ even in high season you can usually still find a quieter stretch of beach away from the main access points.
Rarely does a beach of this quality sit so close to a town with such good infrastructure.

Infrastructure

San Teodoro offers plenty of restaurants, bars, and accommodation close to the beach โ€“ handy for anyone who isn't after a remote beach but wants to combine swimming with easy access to a town.
